Congratulations Dav - Saltburn Open Champion 2008.

Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Crab/Lobster licence
« on: August 10, 2008, 10:44:54 PM »
I've noticed many posts slagging off this relatively recent addition to the red tap gagging this country but can't actually find a link to a website where I might apply for the said licence.

Anyone got a link please ?

Cheers

I note you live out of area corky. Unless potting in the NESFC area then it wont apply to you.

If you intend to fish in the area from Hull to Tyneside (Exact details on the site) then yes. If you intend to fish in other regions possibly no but check it out with their sea fisheries committee. I arent sure if our area is the only 1 where this rule currently applies. I feel it is ???.

Local inshore fisheries are governed by the 12 sea fisheries committee's Corky and they make the rules/byelaws for fishing in their area. Currently most of the committees are made up of commercial fishermen with the odd councillour (with a family interest in commercial fishing :cheesy:). The new marine Bill intends to change this balnce. For better or worse I just dont know. Time will tell. I think its highly likely there will be just more red tape and hoops for us to jump through with little reward on the angling front.
