Blue lobster

Fishing whitby pier from 9 fri night to sat 5 in the morning, sea very rough, but we were there, caught 2 crabs a starfish and a blue lobster, after a long discussion, we decicided to throw it back after taking a few snaps. Any info on these lobsters, were we right throwing it back. it was around 14/15 inch in length

Not sure what the legal size is but had it been over it would have been in my pan.
