Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Just what is your budget  ?? what do you want it for ??  inshore light drifting or deepwater wrecking ??  there is a massive amount of gear out there Mr Giddings  yes

Give a bit more info and I am sure that someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Otherwise try the link to whitby angling, they have gear to suit all pockets  yes

Hopefully someone will offer you some advice Mr Giddings. I think the way things are going with the boat fishing you should be looking at the lighter class boat rods and a real for low diameter braids. Might be worth talking to Martin in Whitby angling supplies. Ive just bought the new fladden maximus (well its on order) and must say they look the bees kness for shadding etc  wink

For a cheap, tough, versatile, but not too heavy rod check out the fladden charter 15-30lb  yes  Its a little short at 6'6 and comes as one peice but is absolutely great for around £20 in most shops. You should be able to pick up a fladdden or okuma multiplier to match for around £30 -£40  yes load it up with 30lb braid and you will have a good outfit mate
