Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

i agree, if you go out fishing with what i call a "BUZZING FOR IT"  attitude, (which i normally am), your halfway there, and if you dont get much or do well or blank or whatever, at least you can still say you've enjoyed it.

if you go out half cocked and a "this is'nt right, that is'nt right" attitude, your already on a downer with everything you will defo do a lot worse with your time fishing.

PMA thats what yo need man   YEAH :cheesy:

I used to really look forward to boat trips out of Brid, and although I had a job that involved driving about 1200 miles a week, the 96 miles to Brid seemed different.
Thoughts were about what I might catch, who else would be on the boat, and if I would start groundbaiting

Used to get tired around lunchtime, but propped up the wheelhouse for half an hour and was ready to go again.
It's always nice to meet new folk anyway, even if the fish are playing hard to get.

I think personally that if you have a posative attitude to most things in life

you will do better, it does'nt matter what you apply it to Alan, dont you agree?

Only my thoughts/attitude           Cheers Ian

Yep thats right Alan. It sort of ties in with my Motivation topic. I fished last night. Didnt really have the positive menatl attitude. I think I could have done better than I did had I been tuned in.

Every fishing trip out of whitby for me gives a buzz as it's like an adventure not least due to the fact that i have a 580mile round trip from leigh-on-sea in essex. Expectations grow on my 4-5 hour journey irrelevant of the expected conditions, plus the bonus of having a decent fishing chat with either Dolly in the Fleece or killa in the Ship, if he sits still for long enough!

I'm like lobbers before I go fishing - buzzing.  I need some early success on the day though otherwise I sicken myself off.
The night before I can't sleep and have spent most of the day thinking over tactics and getting bait etc.

I slept badly last night going over venue choice, tactics,bait.....do I head butt the competition of just a good old shoe'ing...lol
Tonight the night before the match...well gear has been checked and re checked...bait sorted, tactics discussed further with fishing buddy.....first choice second choice and third choice all put on the back burner till I get to the sea tomorrow and make a more informed choice.....then who cares I will be out fishing again, trying 200% but if it doesn t come together at least it won t be for lack effort.

Now time for bed.
Up at 05.30 ...not long now....lol
