Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year To All Our Members And Guests

Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

What weight of jellyworm are you using and how are you riging them shammy. I got some leadheads from Bill Costins but find the hooks very large.

you can rig the worm direct on to a worm hook (or even an aberdeen'd do) on your mainline glen an simply use a drilled bullet directly above of round 1 oz then cast and steady retrieve  :cheesy:

That sounds better moudly as the jig heads I have  use a 6/o - 7/o hook in a 2 ounce lead. Im wanting a cheap set up on the yak as I lost a lot of spinners and hokeyes under sandsend cliffs the other night spinning in the kelp. I got a good fish on about 3 pounds and snagged it right under the yak, probbably a pollock.

i use a 2/o hook and make a loop about 2 ft away from the hook to attach a 1 oz bomb cast and slow retrieve along the bottom you lose a lot of gear but thats rock fishing

either of those methods work for pollack glenn, you'll tend to find they shy away from an erratically fished lure so fish it at a constant speed.
bet it was good fun on the light gear shammy   :cheesy:

At the Mull I was using the tried and tested method of drilled bullet and eel but couldn't buy a bite - Newdave was using the shads and was getting plenty of hits hence I soon changed and was in business - anyone tried shads on the Brigg?
