Whitby Angling Festival Autumn 2014 Still No Pics From Jim The Float
« Reply #1 on: September 13, 2014, 06:42:25 PM »
Well everyone on board today knew how difficult i was going to be given the tidal conditions luckly  for us weather was nice flat calm seas at times like a mill pond  really nice day at sea and  hopefully this loverly September will continue.
The fishing today wasnt the greatest day aboard but by no means the worst.
There was plenty of pollock in the 3lb range plenty of ling around the 6/7 lb mark i think the best onboard went up for the weigh-in and pulled the scales to a respectable 10lb 12oz when taken up to the weigh in.
Given the conditions  and that we never got much "slack" the lads fished well and stuck at it and all ended up with acceptable bag of fish.
Apoligies that i never managed to get a pic of out biggest fish because i was cleaning in the wheelhose because
PAUL EDDON IS A BAD TOAD !!!
One of the lads with a 7lb ling one of many onboard today.
the lads waiting at slack water baited up and waiting for that line ripper
Unfortunately not today
And to cap it all off listening to paul eddons musical arse and shocking jokes drove me to ........
Cheers all ;-)

The lads worked there socks off on sea otter 2 with the tide still being big and they got there rewards  I had lads onboard  from afar away as Scotland who have visited Whitby for the first time they  managed ling over 12 lb and cod upto 9lb so they well happy and Chris izod managed 2nd place in the Dailys they liked what they saw at Whitby and have allready booked more trips for next year .

Chris with his ling that got 2nd place in the Dailys .

Cheers Perry, had a good time out there yesterday despite it fishing a bit slow, I did enjoy getting stuck into a few pollack though, another species crossed off the list, looking forward to being back on in a fortnight hopefully to nail the big one, cheers Dave.

Talking to the lads off Shy Torque at the weigh-in.
They where catching plenty of Pollack.
Had quite a few into double figures.
The best 12lb-09oz.

TROT-ON. 16LB ling takes 1st place in daily prize board
« Reply #13 on: September 14, 2014, 06:11:48 PM »
Today started as yesterday finished ling with a few pollock and codling thrown in the mix.
It wasnt quite as calm as yeterday with the weather threatning to turn snotty but thankfully it became a half decent day weatherwise. Slack water fished really well with plenty of ling approaching double figures and also a nice 16lb 1oz fish coming aboard
It took first place in the daily prizes which is our first of the festival.
The same lad managed to fill a big 8st fish box mainly of ling but given the tidal condition He fished very well. Also please may i apologise to the same bloke and another lad who has fished with us a couple of times before who is holdind a near double figure fish here   I crnt remember either of yours names !!!! Rude i know but heads like a babys pram full of poop and broken biscuits. Heres the daily prize winner with his two best fish.
On a sadder note paul got let down by a party of 6 anglers today.
No phonecall last night nothing at all im afraid to say that if you are forum members you should be ashamed of yaselfs  this job is the skippers lively hood no matter which skipper it is to be let down by 6 men is 300 quid on a festival weekend  the boat could of been filled 2-3 times over......
I won't air my feelimgs on the matter but im pretty sure u can guess >:(
Cheers Perry

Good report Perry. Well done Mr Eddon good skipper, it's a shame that some so called anglers take the piss letting him down like that I hope he remembers who they are and gets them blacklisted. Take care.

Cheers Ivan hope you are well, paul works as hard as any other skipper in that harbour and gets good catches. For people to let him down when at end of day its what puts bread and butter on table is low.
Whats all that about pete !!!! Was last nights pizza 2day m8 we ate it cold thou ;-) im away on friday for a trip back on the 3rd oct when u home ??
