PB Bass
« on: July 26, 2009, 10:13:16 PM »
Had another bass fishing session this evening and hit my third mark in as many days. to cut a long story short I managed a new PB bass of 4lbs 10oz caught on my yo zuri crystal minnow red head. The fish was the biggest of 4 that I landed. I also connected with 4 or 5 more that came off. I also witnessed 2 fish jump clean out the water in an attempt to take my plug after Id lifted it out of the drink. One of the fish was a nice one and looked far bigger then the good one I landed.

I was accompanied by Dan, Damo and Mike who also had their share of the fish. All in all another great days bass fishing as I had also manged one this morning when I went out with Mike and my son Jay. No pictures as yet as I left the camera in the car and im too lazy to go and get it.

Tomorrow night its another new venue that Mike reckons will be even better than all the rest. Well it better be as Mike intends us marching 2 mile cross country before we even bloody get there. Ill keep you posted on that one.

:surprise: well done Glenn, I see you and Mike are trying different marks and thats where the excitement comes into it don't you think, you just never know what to expect. It really is the most exciting time around here for catching bass. Having someone tell you everything in years to come will not compare.

All our own work Ken and many many hours trying for nothing. As far as we know 2 of the venues we hit this week have not been touched for bass so far, as will be the one were off to tomorrow evening.

Thats fantastic Glenn, I reckon that is the kind of venue a real big fish is likey to come from, even the possibility of a double, dont you?

Nice one Glenn

As Ken has said I really think that the stretch of coast from spurn through to whitby has some of the best quality and variety of sea angling in the country

Hi Dave,

I learnt something this week. On the days that Dan and Damo got their good fish the water was brown and you couldnt see the bottem in inches of water. Im now convinced that if they are on the feed they will find a lure.

Im sure someone will click a double somewhere on the coast. I do think it may require a change of tactics though.

Well done lad's, and good luck for tomorrow night, looking forward to the next report
I've been inspired by the bass reports on the site so I've been trying a couple of marks up here but as yet I've nothing much to report  But I'm pretty sure that they will be there at these marks, maybe not in the numbers that you get but i just have a feeling they are there.
Cheers Ian.

Well done on your pb glenn,im sure a double will come out over there for someone with all the effort its just a matter of time.I have had only one myself, never had one anywhere near since, they are rare fish and most lads i know have never had one anywhere near.
what change of tactics do you think it will take though,on some of our marks ive been tempted to fish a big fish bait alongside the usual crab/rag baits but i have never got round to it.

Im certainly not an expert Maxie but I do ask questions here and there. Having spoken to a few people who have caught bigger bass (over 10lb) and nearly always they caught it on a bait of some description.

Maybe theres lots of readers out there who caught them on plugs ???

Well done Glenn.  I'm not sure there will be so many double figure fish around.  One, they take 20 years at least up here to get that size.  Two, the salmon nets mesh size would get that size of fish and they can keep them.  There are those who think the reason we only seem to get fairly small fish is due to the numbers of gill nets along our stretch of coast.

Nice fish Glenn well done,it makes all the fishless hours and effort worthwhile when one of your chosen marks turns up trumps.Plenty of coastline to go at yet and a biggy will be hiding away somewhere just wait and see.
