Heaviest Cod Of The Year So Far - SKINNY VILLAGE TODAY
« on: May 25, 2009, 05:48:54 PM »
we set off at 8am this morning to find a glorious flat calm sea.

we paddled straight out to where the fish were yesterday and sure enough they were there again.

damo was quickly into two fish around the 2lb mark each.

then i showed him how it was done with a 4 1/2 lber and lovely fish which weighed 6lb 2oz

that was it fir today as the weather once again took a turn for the worst.

just to say thanks to acko who made sure everyone got in ok when the wind picked up.

lunch time

excellent result Dan, not many of those bigger fish out there at the moment you did well to get one. Shame about the conditions turning but thats the downside of fishing 1.5 to 2 miles out - nowhere to hide!
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

They are getting bigger Dan, well done mate. Should be some doubles about pretty soon. Just prey for no wind on the small tides next week.

Brilliant, I did wonder if that fish was going to break the 6lb barrier, glad it did, good to see the bigger ones starting to emerge
