Hi Kate, for the River Wear ,
contact Bishop Auckland Angling Club, Wadsworth Angling and Conservation Centre, off Main Street, Witton Park, Bishop Auckland. DL 14 ODY
Tel 01388 609734

I've been in this club for 10 years and reccomend it. It has approximately 20 miles of the Wear and about 3 miles of the Tees at Eggleston.  However, when the leash comes up again for the Tees, they may not renew it, thanks to the rent always increasing. When i say 20 and 3 miles, that means counting in double banks-if you know what i mean.  Also Ferryhill AC, Willington AC and Felling Fly Fishers have stretches of the Wear too.

With regards to Felling, it is not what their name suggests, you can also fish worm and prawn. Fly fishing only for Brown Trout.
