A mate of mine goes there quite a bit and loves it. He does reckon the fish are exceptionally spooky though.

Ian, i fished the Lowther about ten years ago at Lowther Caravan Park. It cost £3 for 24 hours fishing, and i couldnt believe how big some of the Brownies were. One evening just befor darkness set in, i was targeting a riser for about an hour, and was annoyed it was rising on the other side of a log. Suddenly the log decided to swim off up stream and i realised it was a brownie. On the way back off the river, i met the Camp owners son, who had just took one @ five and half pounds on a size 20 something. Not bad for three quid.
