Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

second match of the series maryport prom 4  hours up to high water.
conditions were flat again and a nice day but the water still held a bit of colour from saturdays blow.
the fishing was best in the first two hours as expected  then slowed right down later on up to high water.
winning the match and £300 scottish angler alan combe, better known for his cod fishing so well done to him with 12 fish.
second and £150 north east legend jim dobie with seven fish.
third for £70 local angler j.stephenson.
no longest fish but £50 for a zone win.
not a bad match a bit peggy again, main catch plaice and flounder.
myself another bad match but it cant last much longer..................can it scare

round three between allonby and tommy legs 3up 2 down.
weather 30-40mph winds patchy rain.

this would have been a good match with half decent weather but a big sea on here means one thing, weed.
i ended up fishing a shallow gully which was breaking the main waves but only small flounders in there, fished the gulley channel where it runs out and got an eel last chuck.
only three eels out in the match though and mine was the smallest.
