Me and the Slug are having an away day to SW Scotland in early May. Heard Luce Bay was ok for fishing (shore ony). Does any body have any advice or know areas worth a go. We've never fished SW Scotland before and need all the help we can get.
Cheers

Hi Willy, I have fished luce bay mate, it can be very good for bass, although i must admit i have never fished it this early in the year, Genrally June onwards... A few Luce Bay Bass... You can catch Bass from most of the beaches in Luce Bay, here are a few i would give a go.. Sandhead, New England Bay, Terrally Bay, Kilstay Bay, Calliness Point, Mary port Bay, You will catch fish on Bait, lugworm or crab can work well on a two hook rig on the flood tide... The Best time for plugging is at first light or dusk, surface lures work best.. Good Luck Lads... Gary

I think the area around the Mull and Luce Bay has great potential for Kayak fishing, Luce Bay area should be ideal for bass fishing from the Kayak, but i would seek guidance on fishing around the mull head area as at some stages of the tide the run is unbelievable, unless you are into whitewater rafting... i think if you ventured around the mull head at the wrong state of the tide your next port of call would be the Isle of Man... Good Luck Gary
