I bought one of these headlights at the start of the last fishing season. What more can I say, its an excellent headlight for fishing. Its small and lightweight with no big battery pack to carry around like many other headlights, making perfect for the roaming angler. Admittedly it doesn’t have the light power of the tiga or samalite but its not far short. Its powered by 4 aa batteries. I use energizer rechargables which I find are excellent too giving around 5 hours of constant light on full beam. I beleiev that this headlight is only as good as the batteries you put in it so make sure you go for a quality rechargable with a high ma rating - 2500 or higher will do the job just fine.

excellent light weight light, good beam for spotting fish ,but you can quite happily fish all night on the low setting wide area led’s.
should be even more usefull in summer ,when you just need a light to get off the rocks after dusk when you’ve been spinning.

Bought Princeton Tec Apex at Christmas after much deliberation and forum debate.
Its a great lightweight light, just right for the odd night fishing session. Does exactly what it says on the tin, unfortunatley doesn’t enable me to catch any fish!
I love the fact that you can use bog standard batteries, although i do use a high power rechargeable to cut cost on the wallet and environment. Plus its not big and bulky like the old miners lamps or the tiga.
a superb buy, would recommend it to any one.
just wish the boys in the uk could sell it a little more reasonably, got mine from over the pond.
