Humminbird Portable Color Fishfinders and GPS

The 383c Combo Portable and the 343c Portable fishfinders, Humminbird

2006-07-01 EUFAULA, Ala. (July 2006) – With the introduction of the 383c Combo Portable and the 343c Portable fishfinders, Humminbird® now offers anglers professional grade sonar and GPS chartplotting in high performance, mobile units.

“We received great response from the 300 Series™ introduction last year, and these new models respond to the demand for portable versions,” said Darrell Watt, senior global product manager.“These units are ready for all seasons since they’re easily adapted from open water to ice fishing. They’ll give the angler equipment to fish with total confidence in any environment.”

The 300 Series portables feature a soft-sided, portable carry bag with a rigid internal structure that supports the fishfinder and a battery. Generous power is included through a 12-volt gel-cell battery that provides up to 16 hours of operation. The carry bag is also outfitted with tackle and transducer storage pockets, non-skid bottom, and zippered flaps for easy access to the fishfinder and battery compartments.

Rigging the 300 Series portables for ice fishing is as simple as plugging in the optional Humminbird ice transducer and selecting the on screen flasher view ice anglers love. The ice transducer features a cable that remains flexible in extreme cold, and an optional suspension arm that lets the transducer hang vertical like a plumb bob. The portable carry bag is conveniently sized to fit inside the five-gallon bucket many ice anglers use to transport their gear.

The 383c Combo Portable and 343c Portable both feature a high definition, sunlight-readable color display. With the 320 vertical pixel display, anglers can easily identify fish size and bottom hardness. The 383c Combo Portable includes internal GPS, and built-in UniMap™ of continental U.S.A. lakes, rivers and coastline with 30 meters per pixel resolution.

Like other models in the 300 Series, the 383c Combo and 343c utilize DualBeam PLUS™ sonar that gives both wide coverage (one sonar beam is 83 kHz at 60 degrees), and better structure and bottom detail (other sonar beam is 200 kHz at 20 degrees). Images from the two sonar beams can be viewed separately or simultaneously on the units.

Suggested retail price for the 383c Combo Portable is $449.99 and $329.99 for the 343c Portable. Both units will be available January 2007.

Piranha MAX Fishfinder

Piranha MAX Fishfinder RANGE FOR 2007

piranha max fishfinder

PiranhaMAX fishfinders from Humminbird offer performance, versatility and great value for money. These compact and highly popular entry level fishfinders are a favourite when it comes to simplicity - all the units are still operated by just three buttons. However, behind that user friendly console is some highly sophisticated technology which Humminbird never stops improving. That’s why they’ve just introduced the new PiranhaMAX range.
The five new models to be launched at the London Boat Show are the PiranhaMAX 210, the PiranhaMAX 215, the PiranhaMAX 220, the PiranhaMAX 230PT and the PiranhaMAX 240. The PiranhaMAX 210 and 215 have a higher screen resolution with 240V x 160H LCD pixel displays and an LED backlight. The PiranhaMAX 220 now has an 8 level grayscale display. This doubles the previous display levels giving a much stronger definition of the screen image.
The PiranhaMAX 230PT has been upgraded to use dual beam sonar which incorporates a high definition centre beam and a wider scanning beam. This portable fishfinder can also be used with the SmartCast orange float. The float is a wireless transmitter which is cast on the fishing line and transmits information back to the display. It relays the temperature and depth of the water, shows the contours of the bottom – and of course the fish.
All models in the PiranhaMAX range are available as fixed units or as portable fishfinders using a transducer with a suction cup. When portable they are powered by AA batteries and pack away into a rugged carrying case which includes integral cable storage.
Top of the range is the new PiranhaMAX 240 which uses Tri Beam Sonar giving an exceptionally wide field of view beneath and behind the boat. This sonar features a 20° downwards looking beam and two 35° side beams giving a total 90° scanning coverage. The PiranhaMAX 240 also incorporates an 8 level grayscale display.
Prices start at £89 for fishfinders in the PiranhaMAX range, including the transducer.

These user friendly units are packed with features offering real choice when it comes to picking the right option for your boat. The 787c2 Combo has a sunlight viewable colour display, GPS and full Navionics Gold chart plotting facilities. The 777c2 also has a sunlight viewable screen offering crystal clear views of the bottom. The 767 Combo has a high contrast Grayscale screen and again GPS. The 727 with its ultra high definition displays offers expansion options to include GPS trackplotting.
The 787c2 Combo offers outstanding clarity
All these models come with DualBeam PLUS sonar which uses a centre sonar beam focused on the bottom to show you structure, weeds and cover and this is surrounded by a second beam which can track fish in the wider area. The 737 features a memory card reader so you can take a screen snap shot of an image and even save its position. This model uses 90° QuadraBeam PLUS sonar which has the widest coverage.
All the 700 fishfinder series are completely upgradeable and expandable. They can be flush mounted or fitted with the Tilt & Swivel Quick Disconnect Mounting System.
Like all Humminbird Fishfinders these units are totally waterproof and are guaranteed for two years.

Maria Chase SW

Posted under Bass Lures & Bass Plugs & Bass Spinners

Maria Chase SW Bass Plugs

The Maria Chase SW is a fantastic lure that fits into the category of shallow diving. It is a rather slim plug but somewhat long in length with excellent action when fished in Saltwater. This plug works well at depths to 30cm so it is ideal for fishing in shallow waters. The Maria Chase SW has a reflective strip making it visible at both dusk and dawn. The lure has a magnetic moving weight inside which makes it cast much better than most other plugs on the market. The Maria Chase SW is thought by many to be one of the finest bass plugs on today’s market.
