Lady Angler Lucy Bowden Says Fishing Is Not Just For The Men
Lucy Bowden loves her fishing so much she has set up her own website to encourage more ladies to take up the sport. Lucy’s site is dedicated to angling for the fairer sex and contains news pages, a gallery, a forum and even a store selling some stylish clothing for the lady angler.
Lucy Bowden, the site’s founder, wants to launch her own clothing line in the future. She has appeared on television in England, America and New Zealand, all in aid of getting more people, especially women, into the sport.Lucy Says
Here at fishingforeveryone, we are dedicated to encouraging more people into the sport of angling and in particular to get more females out there and enjoying the sport!
Fishing is one of the few sports whereby everyone and anyone can become involved, no matter of your age, race, gender or ability, anyone can fish! Angling is a sport which gets you out there and at one with nature, where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings at your own leisure.
Lucy’s site has caught a few eyes locally too where she has made the shortrunning for the title of North East Woman entrepreneur of the year award, in the category of ‘most innovative idea.’ The winner will be announced on Friday 17 November at the Hilton Hotel in Newcastle.
We wish Lucy all the best for the awards night and the future and hope her site is successful in encouraging more female anglers into our sport.

This person is a complete fraud! She might like fishing and she might want more women to enjoy the sport but I know she’s nothing but a pretty face when it comes to fishing. She claims on some sites to have started fishing at the age of 5 or 6 or even 8. She claims to have been on the england ladies team….no chance…you have to catch fish for that! She knows nothing about flies and is like a fish out of water when it comes to anything but a freshly stocked commercial fishery. I hope more ladies join the fishing world, but please let it be a fisherwoman!!
