Dry Box For Prowler 13 – Accessory Storage
Pimp My Kayak Sunday, July 19th, 2009Dry Box For Prowler 13Â – Article By Forum Member BigCod31
Having been out and not been entirely happy with the hook and swivel storage box supplied with the prowler 13 I decided I needed something bigger to keep dry my rigs and other items I needed to stay totally dry so I got myself a dry box from ebay and set about making a base plate out of yellow perspex to suit so i would not have to drill the kayak, I used the three 5mm bolt fittings already in place and screwed the base to these drilling the plate to take some 5mm bungee cord to keep the box in place. I cut a pad eye in half and fitted to the dry box using 4mm s/steel bolts to hook the cord over. I also left enough room to fit my gps at the other end of the base plate, so it now gives me plenty dry storage that is totally removable
I also came across these tree ties and found the space on the inside of the kayak usually used for a rudder footplate made a great place to store my filleting knife without drilling any holes.
Here is a few pics of the box etc.
