Hi Everyone

Just a reminder about our next meeting and an update on Art 47:

The next meeting will be on Saturday 28th March at The Tiger Inn Lairgate Beverley commencing at 2.15pm. The North Eastern Sea Fisheries Committee have agreed to give a presentation on current issues effecting the RSA sector and provide some data on the past efforts of the NESFC in support of the RSA sector. ANY ITEM FOR THE AGENDA PLEASE BY 10TH MARCH.

We have been very active indeed behind the scenes in our opposition to the proposed Art 47 of the EU Consultation document. There have been many articles in the media and we continue to engage MEPs and Mps of all persuasions to oppose this ludicrous recommendation. The pressure is such on the Commission that they have issued a denial that it is targeted at RSAs. BUT please see the attached press release of yesterday and take heed of the advice. KEEP THE PRESSURE UP. Finally DEFRA have agreed to come and discuss Art47 with us. PROVISIONALLY the dates are March, 24th Whitby and 25th Grimsby.
