Kayak Fishing seems to be taking off on the north east coast in a big way. With this in mind we have now dedicated a whole area of our site to the sport of fishing from kayaks. Fresh Water Fishing Section Opened

After numerous requests from our site members we have recently opened an area of the site dedicated to fresh water fishing in the north east. No Sea Angling Licence

The Whitby Charter Skippers plus a local tackle dealer were today celebrating DEFRA's decision to abandon their idea to introduce a sea angling licence. Led by WCSA chairman Paul Kilpatrick they met at their local pub The Fleece On Church Street to toast the hard work of all those who had a helping hand in forcing DEFRA to make their u-turn. The skippers who were fearful a licensing scheme could signify the end for charter fishing in the UK were overjoyed and intended to spend the full day celebrating the decision. British Record Bass

The British Bass Record has been smashed by Isle Of Wight angler Steve Cave who caught a near 20 pound bass from Sandown Pier on the island. However Steve has come in for criticism for killing the fish and has joined the Whitby Fishing Forum to defend his actions. Click to Read More About Steve's Record Bass
